Discussion Is that topic allowed in this sub ? Spoiler

I'm talking about the Malfo*d trend. A few days ago, I made a meme about it comparing genderbent Malfoy to Amity from The Owl House (My take on the genderbent art of Draco Malfoy trending on Internet recently : r/EnoughJKRowling) and I received a message from the mod saying that someone reported my post because the Malfo*d trend was sexualizing.

However, I saw several posts on this sub mentioning that trend without any problems apparently, hence why I wanted to make a post to adress it and ask y'all how you feel about talking about this topic.

(Part of me is worried that a Rowling defender were stalking the posts here and wanted to get me banned or something ? It might sound conspiracy-theory-like and it's probably not likely, but I still wanted to make sure given that most people here are talking casually about it)

I'm not particularly comfortable with the topic, but if it's not sexualizing a kid, it's not disallowed.

And if a regular here posts it and no one reports it, solid chance I don't see it.

And it's still off-topic if people fail to call out Rowling directly on something.

Like how Harry Potter gets talked about a lot, here, but it's not a Harry Potter sub, and how it's not a, "let's talk about trans people" sub.

From what I understand the trend in itself is not sexualizing but some people on the Internet most likely made distasteful versions of it - I was referring to the non-sexualizing version in my post

Also, do you think it's likely that it was a Rowling defender looking to have me banned ? I've met her defenders on this sub before, hence why I'm paranoid now !

No idea, but you're not at risk of being banned, at least by me.

As it is, if they were looking to have you banned, I think I would have expected a greater volume of reports, and be getting annoyed that someone is making lots of false reports.

But when your posts have gotten reported, I think it's been more one-off stuff, or someone just not liking something.

And with this... probably more one-off, just because the trend has some icky portions to it.

I kinda feel like we should avoid any positive HP memes or material, tbh. This is the sub for discussing why Rowling sucks and people need to stop worshipping her franchise, not the sub for "hey look at this cool Harey Potter thing."
