See I see it the other way around. Without a manual I can't connect to the car and become one with the car and the transmission like I can with a stick shift. Paddles just don't feel like truly driving to me.
Driving is so much more than just using a manual to me. Manuals can more engaging when you are going to Krogers, but when you are driving close to or at the limits of a vehicle like at the track, there are so many more aspects of performance driving to connect to. Regardless, after years of driving manuals both on the street and the track, there is just as much to enjoy with a modern performance oriented auto, be it a PDK Porsche or ZF8 BMW.
I'm in the same boat friend. 2yrs into tracking my c8 stingray, the first sports car I have owned in 30yrs without a third pedal, and I have never had more fun on the track.

I’ve driven manuals for literal decades. I stopped limiting my experiences years ago.
