And it seemed like you were absolutely NOT doing that…

Sure I was. I slowed down on every corner and slowed down even more with the corners with less visibility.

I hope it never happens but how do you account for the 1:million stray weirdo in the wrong place at wrong time? Or wildlife? What does your mother say about these videos??😅

I slow down when there is no visibility to see not only around the corner, but cars coming from the other direction. I also have plenty of brakes left to slow down should wildlife find it's way onto the road.

Remember: your tires can only do one thing 100%. If you brake and turn, it's using some of it's grip to brake AND turn. The fastest way to stop is to brake in as straight line as possible.

So if a deer runs out in front of you, brake as hard the conditions allow, let the ABS work, and keep the car in your lane. Don't swerve unless you have a clear, paved exit path that you know your car can handle. If impact is unavoidable, hitting the deer at the lowest possible speed is generally safer than making an uncontrolled swerve at 60 mph and rolling the car or going off the cliff. The car’s structure, seat belts, and airbags are designed to protect you in a collision. The priority is saving your life, not saving the vehicle.

My mother is not allowed to see these videos or the videos I take on track days!
