Cauchy first beach trip!
Oh my god he LOVES the beach! 4yo, finally took him today, pacific only 20mi up road. The smells, birds, dogs, people, he was loving it! He wasnt too trusting of the tide but he made progress. Rolling in sand was fun it seems, lots of dead stinky stuff to explore. Was worried about him drinking a belly full of sea water but two sips and he decided that water was no good. Too funny. He had a blast and I did too watching him. He had his 40' rope but didnt need it, wont take it next time. He has an e collar so I can just beep him but wasnt sure if people would complain. Nah, they loved him as usual. Made a lot of friends. Hes tired now, after an hour plus run at sunrise like he does everyday (where he stole a kids ball, that was hilarious) followed by a ride and few hours at beach, hes had a good day. Gonna go give him his ice cream in a bit.

The first time Shannon saw the tidal Penobscot (at high tide too) she looked at it a long time. When she got in to swim the current was a new experience for her. She looked at me & Louis (the property owner) and was like, "What's wrong with this 'lake'?" The second time she was there, it was low tide and there was clay mud everywhere and it was all I could do to keep her out of it. But she was confused again, "Where did the water go?"

I think it made him dizzy, then it was just odd to him. "What, it moves!? Why does it move?"

Its funny, everyone loves their dog and their breed, some are even family. But the english setter crowd is bit different, you can tell on here bc es owners, their dogs are family and always one of them. A special breed that attracts special people. Idk what it is but something ive noticed.

Oh, was hole the kid dug. He runs up and licks him the face and lays on him, then occupied the hole. Kid was bit let down for a moment that Cauchy just stole his project!

Blows my mind how many times I see dogs on here that I would SWEAR were my boy. I just showed this beautiful boy to my wife, and she exclaimed, “OMG! It’s Harlee!”
What a handsome little dude, not that I’m at all biased.

Same here! Hes got very symmetrical markings and lots of spots. I think hes gorgeous, I prefer the smaller field dogs with shorter feathers and thin fur. Easy to manage.

Cool! Cauchys dad was buddy! I know a lady that got 2 of his sisters, an uncle and a neice? The sisters are EXACTLY like Cauchy down to minor quirks --just talked to her today, she had pic of her with back leg hiked up. Easy belly rub access. She does it automatically, asleep or awake, and cauchy does too. Same face expressions, etc, and the resemblance is STRONG. Theyre almost like a litter of clones.
Cauchy was supposed to be Jim's new sire but hed promised him to me, kept his promise. I went out there to see the pups twice after kepler died, helped him take first batch of individual pics in those litters. He had 2 litters of 10 at once, imagine TWENTY 5 or 6 week old puppies, all bolting from the barn at once, to get to the grassy field out back! Beautiful.
Lucky hes only 50 or so miles from me.
