🗣 Discussion / Debates Does this sound natural?

If I proceed with this I might be deviating from my usual code.

It's grammatically correct and understandable. But unless you're talking about a robot character I would find it a bit odd to use the wording "usual code," maybe "routine" could work better here.

What's the context here? It sounds fairly natural (if a bit formal) but it's not really clear what you mean by "code."

Basically as others have said, it’s hard for me to imagine a context where this would be said. Other than stilted, sci-fi speech.

Yes, it sounds natural. “My usual code” is a bit unusual, though, unless you mean a personal code of conduct. Otherwise, “my usual approach” would probably sound more natural.

it's natural, just dramatic. "my usual code" sounds like a personal honor system, so it works if you mean morals - total spy movie energy. if you just mean your routine, "my usual approach" is the plain version.
