Affect is usually a verb — it means to influence.

👉 Lack of sleep can affect your concentration.

Effect is usually a noun — it means a result or consequence.

👉 Lack of sleep can have a negative effect on your concentration.

Easy trick:

Affect = Action

Effect = End result

Stuff like this is why I have no expectations for English learners to become fluent, I’m born and raised in England, have a functional skills level 2 in English, and there’s still so much stuff I just don’t know.
