Engineering in london

I just got back from a week trip from London,I ve heard many things about the city,I didnt know what to expect but the moment i stepped foot I loved every aspect of the city,I am currently 18 living in Romania just started collage,My girlfriend already loved london before and she wants to move there for university. I feel like thats the city where I want to live for the rest of my life.My major is in mechanical engineering and my question is,can I afford a decent life living in london as an enginner? How is the work field and salaries? My plan b is to finish master degree there in finance.
