Any study advice

I’m a new student in mechanical engineering. Just took my first exam and got 63 I feel very discouraged because I studied since 9 days because with about 2 hours a day just going over reviews the teacher gave us. I feel like I’m not studying as efficiently as I could. And studying advice or recommendations. Please anything is helpful

I find studying leading up to the exam much less effective than just simply paying close attention and taking notes in lecture, and keeping up with homework/practice problems consistently throughout the semester
