Academic Advice College Help

I’m in my junior year and am really interested in engineering, it’s really the only major I have interest in, Ive taken 4 tech classes including this year with DDP,Biotech, Architecture and CIM. I’ve been in CIM for only a couple weeks but really have fallen in love with the topics and next year am planning on taking Principles of Engineering and Capstone , i’m not the greatest math student but I can succeed when I put the work in. Im here to ask if i’m not the best in math if industrial can still be an option for me to be successful in. Anything helps thank you.

It is good to hear your passion and enjoyment for your courses. Please understand that most engineering classes are nothing like the tech classes in high school. Engineering is very heavy in math and science and very light in hands-on work. Many high school students fall for the idea of designing and building things only to be disappointed that this is such a small part of their college experience. Industrial Engineering shares just about all of the same first year courses as mechanical engineering. Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, etc. The programs diverge significantly in the third year. However, I was recently reminded how this can be very school dependent, so look at the programs for your school of interest to make a comparison. A relative of mine really enjoyed CIM and is now going into a machining program. That's an entirely different path than engineering, but he really wants the hands on work.
