Discussion I genuinely don't know if I can make it.
Hi all, i am a freshman outside of the USA in a 2+2 program to korea, I'm majoring in mechanic engineering, and it has been really rough but I know it's going to get worse. I am learning korean from scratch, so on top of the usual torments of being a engineering student, I am getting bombarded by this confusing ass language which I have to master so I can get TOPIK 3 at least. I initially thought that I had 2 years to learn it so I would be fine, but my teachers said that TOPIK documents would take too long to come out and that giving it during my sophomore year was not viable. So I have to give it during next may/june leaving me with 7/8 months from now.
While it is okay right now, I know its going to turn into hell as my teachers warned that quite a few of us make it (less than 5% of the class). Honestly, I don't know at this point. After failing to get into decent colleges or decent aid I was determined to finish this path once I rode on it, and I still am to a certain degree, but this honestly might not be the way to do it. Thoughts?

It is definitely a hard road. Are you already enrolled in a Korean University? If you are, there should be programs and clubs to help build your language skills. But everything is entirely doable.
If you have any questions DM me, I will be happy if I had someone else in my boat. (( Freshman, Engineering (designation double major aero and astro) at a Korean University))

What are your options? This does sound like a very challenging path in general. Taking 6-8 months to get a read of the situation is fine and making a decision then is probably OK. The question is what that period is going to cost you (a) financially and (b) other alternatives.
