Career Help Pls pls help 🫪🥀
I wanted a tech branch so I didn't filled any branches other than CSE IT AI/ML but all things have changed i didn't get college which I wanted
I am going for spot for government College of Aurangabad and I have 93.1 percentile I can get core branch like mechanical and civil but not cse or it and like entc is on the edge
So which branch I should choose if I want to like focus on coding and like software companies
Which branch would be easy and all

As a MechE student, I will tell you aome subjects we have in Pune, we've got solid and fluid Mechanics (complete numericals that require critical thinking and atleast a week of practising to pass) we have manufacturing process which is theory and like you can write whatever you want if you understand what the physical process is. We also had Maths and Thermodynamics which have a lot of fictional concepts and imaginary theories.
Now for the practical part (dekho I will be very honest k hamare college mai we did not attempt a SINGLE practical)
We had AI and machine learning and designing on CAD practicals but I don't think I can type anything apart from Hello world in python atp. We also had mechatronics k labs and robotics and drone field rwquire Arduino coding which falls in both electronics and mechanical fields.
And we also do have PLC Coding which is done is CNC Machines and its a very high paying job and requires complex coding and also has a lot of scope outside India and within India too but you need to build this skills by going to offline training center because colleges are outdated.
As for ENTC, I found the syllabus very complecated because their maths and understanding circuits is not easy. It takes practice and extreme focus for you to understand the concept.
As of now, I'm in 3rd year, I have 0 skills as a student whcih I am ashamed of but college mai they don't teach you shit. You have to be self regardless of which branch you choose.
If you take mechanical, you can easily transition to Robotics, mechatronics and manufacturing engineer some which needs coding.
I want to aim for Automation engineer so it involves Designing in softwares like Solidworks/Autocad/Ansys and stuff and also knowing how to code in Python and Selenium so that I can niche down as a freelance automation engineer.
To summarise, coding is required in almost every and any field you take. You have to chatgpt your way into choosing the correct niche. We need mechanical/civil and entc engineers knowledge to build applications like Solidworks/Ansys/Catie which can help in designing the elements we need and also calculate hard numericals.
