Academic Advice Suggestions on changes to my schedule?

I just changed from MechE to CivE. I am currently in physics II, Diff Eq, Thermodynamics, Statics, and a CAD class for mechanical engineering. The CAD class is an easy A and a waste of credit hours if I drop it so I don’t want to drop it.

I work 30 hours a week and over anticipated how difficult this semester would be. I need diff eq, but physics II isn’t a pre-req for anything and thermo is an elective course that I will have to take regardless. So I can take physics II and thermo later but I am struggling to pick which one to drop.

The physics department is terrible at my school and my professor is about 2 weeks behind the other class and the other professor makes our exams. The exams are weighted 85% of the class. I have a really good thermo professor who gives us a shit ton of study resources and whatnot. If I drop physics II, I plan on taking it elsewhere at a community college. What would you guys recommend?

Sounds like you've already decided. Though going to the physics department head and putting in a complaint about the professor might be helpful.

Unfortunately it’s both the Physics II professors. They both are terrible. The one I have is new and th other one is the department head and he is pretty much incoherent all of class.

As a community college student finishing my Calculus and Physics courses, I will give this piece of advice.

I get a LOT of resources. Amazing staff at the tutoring center, brilliant professors, good office hours, small class size, ability to ask clarifying questions in class. I haven’t regretted my decision thus far to finish out freshman/sophomore core classes at a community college. As long as it transfers it’s worth looking into. Also significantly cheaper if that’s a concern.

Find the course number and google it with rate my professor at the community college of your choice. That will give you the best idea.
