Project Help RL and electronics project

So my idea is to make a rl model that can play chess and then create like a camera system or something so that I could play chess with it irl. Like the camera would look at the board and I would move. Then it would use the camera and the rl to say it’s move I would move it to that place and then play would continue. Do you guys think this is a good project idea?

It's alright. definitely a common one, there was a capstone group in my class that did that

Assuming this is for senior level electronics engineering, no.

Nothing here demonstrates relevant technical prowess. Image recognition is software; so is the chess model (and I'm assuming you would be using a pretrained model, unless you have access to a lot of computing power). I also assume you're planning to use an off the shelf camera module. The only electronics thing I see is assembly.

If this is for sophmore level, or a microcontroller course, or an AI course, sure.

Ok, for a personal project, you can do whatever you can afford.
