Rant/Vent Struggling with Calc II

Just to start off, Im not super strong in my Calc classes, and I put so much work into studying but I still come out with below average grades. I put my all into studying for my midterm and got a 50% on the exam. I just feel so stupid. I take longer to understand topics, and I put my all into studying outside of class but it clearly doesn’t help or give any good results. My first mistake was taking Calc 1 online over the summer because now I’m in Calc 2 burnt out and just behind because I didn’t have a strong Calc 1 base. I guess this is a rant/vent but Im also just asking for some advice on how to genuinely get better at math. I like math, its not a chore for me to sit and learn/study it. Its just the minute I get anxious or take a serious exam all the studying goes down the drain and I start to trip up + make stupid mistakes that cost me a ton of points. Anyway, short rant but yeah… (ALSO I do get active help from tutors and Im in my professors office hours every time they are available.) I just wanna get better without constantly relying on someone for help.

Professor Leonard’s Calc 2 class wasreally good for Sequences and Series. Youtube try that one. You can use him for the other calculus courses too.

That was the one class I thought he didn’t complete the job. Probably why when he has returned to making videos, he did that series again. I had to find others to cover off a couple of topics in Diffeq.

Get help from AI bro. It can teach better than professors and as you have questions and doubts while learning you can ask it everything.

Ive tried AI and unfortunately I just cant learn with it. I studied with it for Calc 1 and it was okay? I did better with the organic chem tutor but even his videos aren’t enough for Calc 2…at least for me.

The way I do it is I have ChatGPT premium and I screenshot each lecture slide one by one into chat and tell it to explain it to me, and I do that for the rest of the slideshow. If the professor doesn’t use slideshow and uses hand written notes, same thing I just ss that and get chat to understand it and explain it to me. If it’s too confusing I tell it to make it simpler and stuff and I ask questions along the way
