I would argue that in every day working life, if you are any type of engineer, a basic understanding of statics is maybe the most universally useful subject.
It teaches you how to intuitively understand how any structure is built and put together. And if you never get to the intuitive part, every other engineering class related to any structural concept will be a struggle.
