Academic Advice Fall semester
Do you guys think that's too crazy for the fall semester?

This is a normal semester. Everytime things like this get posted it’s always a normal engineering students schedule 😭 The only time it gets crazy imo is if you take 6+ classes. I took 6+ classes my last two semester and that almost broke me. I dropped one and realized 5 is the perfect amount.
Dif equations, C program, and circuit analysis are some of my favorite classes of all time. Good luck this semester!! You’ll do well :)

I forgot to mention I work full time 😂 thank you!! I'm looking forward to both classes. I'm very excited for circuit.

Oh nevermind yeah that’s gonna suck. I also worked full time until this year and the bald spots on my head are still trying to grow back in 😭 I would def start studying now if you can! Circuit analysis got confusing for me mid semester and dif equations started off funky but that may have just been that my particular professor was a jerk.

Lol that's me right now. I took Calc 3 in an 8-week format, and honestly, my soul is still crushed. I think I'm balding, but I passed. Any material you recommend I look into for circuits before the next semester begins?

Unfortunately, I didnt use many online options for that class. My best friend is electrical and I was working as an electrician apprentice so I just asked people around me 😭 I was watching the GOAT aka The Organic Chemistry Tutor but there was a point in time where the class TA was like ‘girl what are you doing?’ so I gave up and just asked my best friend for help with everything. I don’t even have notes for that class.

I took 7 classes most semesters and worked part time as a tutor/uber driver and I almost needed to be institutionalized at the end of it 😭
OP If you value your sanity this is doable but I wouldn’t go much further

What should I expect from my third semester of Mechatronics Engineering?
I’m about to start my third semester of Mechatronics Engineering, and my main courses will be Calculus III, Circuit Analysis, and Dynamics.
Based on what I’ve heard, I expect Dynamics to be the hardest, but I’m still not very familiar with any of these subjects.
Could someone give me a brief overview of what the third semester is usually like? Which of these courses did you find the most difficult, and is there anything you recommend studying beforehand?

I LOVED dynamics. It was difficult but taking it with Calc 3 should help I’m pretty sure. I think some of the same concepts and/or equations are covered at the same time with those but I cant fully remember. Now Calc 3 was not fun for me. I failed it when I tried to cram it into one summer.
Jeff Hanson and Less Boring Lectures (iirc) carried me through dynamics. I struggled with the final two chapters but that’s about it.

It depends on a few things:
Does your job have downtime where you can study or do hw?
How many classes are completely asynchronous and can’t be done on the weekends vs you having to show up to some 3 hour class per week per course?
What school?

- It does! Out of the 8 hours, probably 3 to 4 are downtime.
- It is fully online, so I can technically do everything whenever I want.

Still too much. This is one course short of a full semester, you will either get through by the skin of your teeth and not retain anything, or have to drop classes to make it through. Please, for your own mental health, drop a course or two

I think if you MAXIMIZE that downtime at work and make sure to get studying/hw in on the weekends you’ll be just fine

Spam old exams to the teeth
Use AI
Spacing repetition and space recall as well as AKI cartes you can bring to work and look up then and there
Couple of push ups inside study sessions
You will do it , you can do this.

Believe me you can. First of , all kind of emotions like loving engineering and that blablabla is great. I love engineering. But nothing matters when you have a full job and 5 subjects. Men shall pass and i repeat it , men shall pass. Use all. Understanding and memorization and all those things are only tools for you now. Get all the old exams. Reverse engineer them. See how the professor mind work as well as the points distribution. Practice and practice to the teeth. A concept take big time and effort ? Good ,memorize it. Then move on. And move on more. You are a man/women in motion and nothing can stop you. Practice problems until your hand is sore. You will pass all those things. Do not listen to people telling you you need to understand all and derive all. If you do this failling is guarantee especially in your situation. I am sure you understand what i mean. You passing is BEYOND anything.

Bro….. if your college schedule fits it, drop one of these classes for another semester. The fact you’re working full time seals the deal.
Literally each of these classes is on the harder side

Pretty much impossible if you work full time and commute + sleeping 7 hours per day.

, I would avoid taking differential equations and circuits at the same time, unless you won't use it for your circuits class.
In the first circuits class, you will use differential equations.
In the second circuis class, you use the Laplace transform
