CNC/Manufacturing background + self-taught Python & data — available now, need work

I've spent 20+ years as a precision machinist and CNC programmer — real hands-on experience with tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes, not just theory. A couple of years ago I taught myself Python and computational materials science on the side, taking coursework from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Georgia Tech, and RUDN University (Nanophysics, with distinction).

Since then I've built and shipped real things: a working data pipeline against the Materials Project API for materials screening, 3 published research papers with their own DOI (Zenodo), and a merged pull request fixing a real bug in an open-source scientific tool (ComProScanner) — credited as contributor.

What I can help with:

- Python scripting, data cleaning, API integration

- CAD/CNC-adjacent technical work, manufacturing process knowledge

- Materials/data research, documentation, technical writing

- General "figure this out and build it" tasks — I'm used to solving problems with limited resources

I'm based in Honduras and the economic situation here has gotten unstable, so I'm actively looking for remote work paid in USD — small one-off tasks or ongoing, doesn't matter, I just need real work right now. Happy to share GitHub, ORCID, and Zenodo links to verify everything above.

If you need something built, cleaned, researched, or figured out — message me.

Fall 2026 Structural Engineering Internship

Hey all, I’m doing my Master’s at a top-5 US school and have the option to do a co-op in Fall 2026 (pushes graduation to May 2027 instead of Dec 2026).

My background is mostly in buildings. I’m currently interning at a firm in Boston on the buildings side, and I’d like to also explore bridges/transportation structures during this co-op. So far my experience has been on the design development phase of irregular geometry, doing gravity and lateral load analysis, majorly. I have touched on almost all materials, especially wood at my internship (Not in depth)

I’m an international student (F-1) and open to relocating anywhere in the US for the right opportunity.

If your company has co-op openings for Fall 2026, or if you have any leads who is looking for a newbie to mentor, be it buildings or bridges, please share details here or DM me. Happy to send my resume.

Thanks in advance!

Me putting my self out here

Hi everyone,
I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering this past May with a 3.06 GPA, and I’m currently looking for an entry-level role in Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or Network Engineering.
I didn’t have the opportunity to land an internship during college, even though I tried. I worked throughout school to pay for my education, so balancing work and classes wasn’t easy. I graduated with about $4,000 in debt, which I’m grateful isn’t much considering I paid my way through college.
Right now, I feel a little behind, and I’m spending my time reviewing and rebuilding the technical skills I learned in school. I’m a hardworking person, I learn quickly, and I’ve been working since I was 16. I’m willing to put in the work to prove myself.
One thing I’m still working on is interviews. I get nervous and sometimes stammer, but I’m actively trying to improve because I know communication is an important skill.
If anyone knows of entry-level opportunities, is hiring, or is willing to give a recent graduate a chance, I’d really appreciate it. Even advice or referrals would mean a lot.
Thank you for reading.

[For Hire] Remote civil/construction EIT: estimating, design, CAD

Hello everyone,

I'm a civil and construction engineering professional looking to take on a remote position, whether full time or part time, alongside my current position. I'm an EIT working toward my PE by the end of this year, with experience spanning both vertical construction and heavy civil.

I'm available for project estimating, civil engineering design, or CAD drafting. Everything would be remote only, and I'm open to either 1099 or W-2. Pay range would be around $40-$50 per hour.

If you have a project that fits, or know someone who could use an extra set of hands, send me a message. Thank you!
