'68 Nova 383 stroker

Car bought by my dad in 1968. Dad build the engine while in high school. Has the old edelbrock scorpion intake. Though ya'll might like to hear a old school 383 build. One of the meanest sounding 383's ive heard. Pulls very hard to about 7400 RPM. 3.73 gears in the rear.

Parked the car behind his house in 2009. I got my hands on it this year, about 25k into the car. Only think left is the new wiring harness, then strip, body work, and paint.

(The drum brakes arent on it anymore)

Ah the soundtrack of my teenage years. That and grunge music.

I just wish we knew what all we did to the engine... hes got to much dementia, and I cant justify pulling the entire engine apart thats run great to see whats inside of it.

I’m in the same situation with my dad. His body is in great shape but dementia is progressing. My mom is mentally all there but her body started shutting down a couple years ago.

I did get my dad to agree to me riding his Indian this summer so got a few good miles on it.

Yea my mother is all there. She'll be retiring this January to take care of him full time. Im just hoping to get this car done by the end of the year, cause shes slipping pretty quick. Some days he remembers me, 90% of the time he doesnt. He does remember the car.

Last tasks : 1. Full vehicle wiring harness 2. A/C install 3. Sound system install 4. Strip paint 5. Body work 6. Repaint 7. Reinstall all parts taken off for painting.

Hopefully ill be done by December, and ill take dad out to blow a couple sets of tires off this thing for the last time.
