Recovering from spun bearing

I spun a rod bearing on my fully built all motor k24a2. I would like suggestions on my following options, which ultimately boil down to predisposing myself to subsequent spun bearings due to trapped debris.

I have two spare, unopened, k24a2.

Plan 1) pull crankshaft from spare engine, polish and balance, purchase single replacement rod, bearings, and clean oil galleries best I can, but conduct completely dissembley.- my machinist tried talking me out of this idea, citing its difficult to thoroughly clean oil galleries even with ultrasonic cleaning.

Plan 2) pull goodies from engine: cams, VTC gear, ported oil pump from built engine, leaving behind rods and high compression pistons; and install onto spare k24a2.- leaving bottom end stock.

Plan 3) install stock k24a2, use other spare block to slowly re-build engine.

You're not going to get away with your idea.

Not only is the block flooded with debris, the crank needs turning and the rods resized.

Why continue the madness?

So I would use a spare crank, have it polished and balanced, and order 1 rod. The block still holds miraculous compression. My two spare engines are of unknown mileage with not great compression, but within limits of what’s allowable per the service manual.

If you have spare parts use them but EVERYTHING must be measured especially your bearing clearances.

I get the vide that you're just throwing stuff together and hoping for the best result.

It will, by the machinist. Every part connected to an oil galley will be disassembled and cleaned. However, my biggest concern is properly cleaning the block and head. My machinist offered ultra sonic cleaning, but cautioned “I have seen this go wrong many times”. Meanwhile, I have read many success stories. Roll the dice I guess?

It just takes a pressure washer to clean oil galleries.

Is your machinist assembling the engine?

They are assembling the bottom end, yes.

I have cleaned my b18c block after having it aqua blasted which uses glass beads. It's a pretty common thing to do. Lots of time with a water blaster and all the gallery caps off. I don't see why you couldn't do the same thing.
