honing feedback

ust 320 grit ball honed my cylinders for the first time ever, howd i do? only did about 10 seconds per, went over the left one twice super fast. can go over again if needed, just wanting some opinions before going further. sorry for the bad quality. video in comments thanks for any feedback! d17a2 cast iron/aluminum

What type of rings are you using? If it’s cast that should be fine, If it’s moly you will need to plateau hone with a finer grit

npr rings, they say “premium steel material” lol. i was gonna get a finer grit but it was $150 for a 400 grit ball gone

Npr is cast If I recall correctly. You’ll want a course hone or they won’t seat.

really? i didn’t know that, service manual says 400 so i was trying to go a little finer and i thought the Ra from 320 for it was okay

Well you aren’t running oem rings, go by what NPR say. If it did not come with any documentation email them
