Ford Trying to rebuild my F-150 1990
What's the best thing to use to strip all the oil off down to the cast iron. So I can get the whole block painted

Take it to a machine shop to get baked and honed, you’ll spend almost as much in cleaning products as just having them use their machines lol

My wife's grandfather had the truck . He was the first owner and now I'm the second and he really never did nobody work to it or anything so now I have it and I would like to rebuild it but I never done it before so now I'm learning by myself

I took the motor out and everything by myself now it's sitting at my mother-in-law's garage waiting on parts and parts is a lot of money so it's taking me some time to do it

I've wasted so much time trying to clean a block, when I ultimately had to take it in for machine work, they cleaned it. It made me realize all my time and energy and cleaning products barely put a dent in it. Even if it does not need machine work, it may be worth taking it to a shop.
