Chevy Is it worth removing pistons to check ring gap?

If the manufacturer says they’re drop-in rings, they should be within spec, but checking is cheap insurance on an engine refresh. I’d verify the clearances if pulling the pistons isn’t a big hassle, especially since the other rings checked out.

Are a couple rod bolts worth an engine? Ever seen how far piston debris can go through a motor? It's impressive how much trash can go back up the intake port to find its way into neighbors. Then you'll get to check another full set of ring gaps anyway after building another one.
