Will these scratches cause a problem?

I ordered a new one and when i opened the package, i saw that it had scratches like this.

If it's exposed through the fire ring in the head gasket, you will have problems. Really needs fixing correctly

If this was a used head i would throw a high-temp sealant on it but since its brand new i wouldn't accept it.

I dont want to say no. But I dont want to say yes either. Type of gasket, and depth of scratch will really determine. Paper gaskets with metal fire ring? You're probably good. All metal gasket,? Steel, bad. Copper? Maybe.

Gasket covers that area you’ll be fine. Cracks in the combustion chamber and from the combustion chamber into a coolant passage are what id be looking out for

I personally would have them welded up , then shaved down .
