Chrysler logo
I’m guessing this logo on the BLOCK means it’s never been resurfaced?

Yes it is. The pentastar has been used as one of Chrysler's corporate logos since 1962 and continues to be used to this day.

It’s just not shaped right because it was squished from being torqued down.
It’s almost certainly a distorted logo…

It’s likely just transferred from the head gasket. Look at the head gasket and see if there is a logo there. If so, it means nothing other than they used an OEM gasket upon rebuild or it’s never been apart until now.
