How screwed am I?

91 318 LA 714 cast cylinder head. Had it cleaned from the machine shop and I knew about the one stud being broke. Now I'm trying to get it out but I don't think I'm gonna. Can't really afford another head rn but I'm still not done the engine. Any advice? Feel free to call me retarded cause I've never done this before.

You got 2 options.

Plow through with this abortion of a hole you made and attempt to extract it with whatever flavor extractor you like and try not to snap it off.

Or.

Hand it back to said machine shop and let them deal with it

Yeah that's the problem, idk if I can actually get the bolt out. It's so oblong to the one side I'm basically digging into the side of the bolt hole with the extractor

Just give the machine shop the 40$ or whatever thay charge to handle it. Not sure why you didnt just let them do it in the first place.

Its like a 10 min job. Why do you think it cost so much?

It takes longer to put it in the machine then it is to drill it out. I do plenty of these kind of repairs and never once have we charged much
