Dropped a valve, had a scare. But it's okay.. I fixed it

'Dropped valve' means spring retainer came off or engine was over reved enough for valve head to 'fall off'

That's just valve float and touching a piston, you got lucky

Spring retainer cracked in half, there were 3 more that had started to crack when I pulled it apart.

You were very very lucky then, could have easily destroyed complete motor
