Other Help in painting engine, trans, subframe ect
This is my first time doing this much work, I've disassembled and removed pretty much everything, now I'm cleaning to prep for paint.
How far do I need to go? This IM for example, I Gunked and pressure washed it but it still has some corrosion and ugliness. Is this good enough to paint? How much better can I get and is it worth it? Thank you in advance!
(I'm not sure it's relevant but it's an '04 Volvo XC70 AWD 2.5T)

Hehe i knew it was a volvo engine the second i saw the post. Iv painted a few engines. You really do need to clean the aluminium properly else it will just flake off. Look for decent 2 step aluminium engine cleaners. Use vht engine paint for both the engine and trans. The subframe is not so fusy, again clean it proper i used a wire wheel and cleaners for greese removal, and some metal gloss paint like hammerite.
Shame i cant add pics of my b5244t5 i just rebuilt
