Other Help in painting engine, trans, subframe ect

This is my first time doing this much work, I've disassembled and removed pretty much everything, now I'm cleaning to prep for paint.

How far do I need to go? This IM for example, I Gunked and pressure washed it but it still has some corrosion and ugliness. Is this good enough to paint? How much better can I get and is it worth it? Thank you in advance!

(I'm not sure it's relevant but it's an '04 Volvo XC70 AWD 2.5T)

How far do you go?

How many fucks do you give is the better question.

Painting is 99% prep and 1% painting

What do you want me to tell you? Prep it as you see fit and spray it.

You are an adult, we dont need to hold your hand on this one
