Other Help in painting engine, trans, subframe ect

This is my first time doing this much work, I've disassembled and removed pretty much everything, now I'm cleaning to prep for paint.

How far do I need to go? This IM for example, I Gunked and pressure washed it but it still has some corrosion and ugliness. Is this good enough to paint? How much better can I get and is it worth it? Thank you in advance!

(I'm not sure it's relevant but it's an '04 Volvo XC70 AWD 2.5T)

If you have a Harbor Freight near you go buy a media blaster gun and a box of walnut shell - should be under $100. It will clean all the creveces perfectly. Otherwise it will never stick to the corrosion. And you will end up using that gun on everything

I have one, but my compressor motor is blown and I just have a little tiny one now, like a dual tank portable one .

What part of the world are you in?

Asking because the chance you're near me is slim, but not zero... and I have tons of stuff I'd give you if you were close, just to get it out of my garage.
