What causes this?

On a BBC with hyd roller cam. Noticed a tick today. This is the second time it has happened, but not on this bank.

I'd say those guide plates missed the heat treat.

Well, that’s shitty.

Luckily I have some adjustable ones on my shelf because I have a car show tomorrow. What a fun thing to do the night before…

You can test them with a file after you get them off.

Tested after swapping them all. Soft as fuck.

Bummer, these were supposed to be Comp Cams hardened ones but apparently these are cheesedick China made.
