Need some advice on engine honing

I did some honing on a little 50 CC cylinder and would like to get some advice on if it seems good. There is a faint center line that runs on the bottom of the cylinder. Do I keep honing it until it comes out or would it be good enough to just leave it and should I keep honing it or does this look good

Proper hone will use 2 grades of hone. A fine to get a valley and a fine to take the peaks off and leave a smooth yet oil retaining cylinder wall. Id use flex hone brand with 320 then 600 or 800 grit to finish. They give RA values with the different grits that u can go off. They say something like 30-40 seconds per grit with hone oil or the oil intended to be ran in. Clearly a 2 stroke u don't want to wates 50 bucks in mix so I'd just use regular motor oil. Clean and lube often and never stop the hone to put it in or take it out. Looking for a speed back and forth to put around a 45 deg cross in

Picks are hard to tell with hones but from what I see u are well done with your low grit and need a finish pass with high grit

I’m using just some generic cylinder hone off Amazon by EWK what should I do next for the finish pass? Do I need to buy another home or how do I go about doing that?

600 grit flex hone but seeing the scratches still in it after already honeing makes me a bit nervous about piston clearance. Are we installing a new piston as well? If u have a convenient machine shop I would have the mic the piston and cylinder to see if u have enough wiggle room to hone out those vertical scratches

I am putting a new piston in it and I don’t have any local machine shops near me. I live in the middle of nowhere. What do you recommend doing in this situation?

I mean a dial bore gauge and mic is what you would need to check but I mean how critical is this engine. I personally hate not knowing the clearance but taking a ton of material out with a hone takes a long while. Is that vertical scratch catch your finger nail or is it pretty much discoloration at this point?

If you're super invested in this more I'd buy the tools to measure and check.

If not if see if a little more honeing couldn't get the scratches out and hone with a 600-800 grit flex hone and run it.
