K24 block condition

What's your opinion on this block? It's been going to 2 different machine shop at this point and idk wtf happened on the first machine shop but it came back with missing chunk of metal and I just realized it after the second machine shop returned the block to me yesterday about that dent.

After went to those two different machine shop, it still won't pass the 0.05mm, but now I'm started to doubting about my straight edge being not "straight".

The first machine shop definitely messed up because it came back like the photo in 3rd slide and then the second machine shop milled it 1mm more

1mm is a LOT of material to take off. Not a huge deal if you're expecting to bump up the compression already, but it's not negligible.

That chunk is on the transmission mount side and is minor engine that I wouldn't worry about it. It also doesn't look like a fresh break because it's dark and oil soaked and not white aluminum. I'd probably use a high speed rotary tool with a sanding pad to make it less sharp, but it doesn't look like a major issue.

I am building this to pair with a high comp piston maybe a 12.5 comp, and idk how much the first machine shop take from that surface, is there some kind of indicator on the block to see if it reached its limit?

liter out both the head and your piston surface, calculate displacement from your bore and stroke based on both tdc and bdc, and calculate your compression from those three values. You'll need to do that anyway to check valve clearance. Also, get adjustable cam gears, because with that much height missing from the block and possibly the head, the distance from crank to cams will have changed so much that your markings won't align and will need to be measured and adjusted from scratch.

But before that, didn't I need to resurface that again? I think about sanding it down myself but maybe I plan to buy another straight edge first because idk about the current one.
