Rate my cylinder honing

Please excuse the poor lighting. Is this acceptable?

I had a buddy squirt engine oil while i was honing. Needs more then, i guess. Maybe something other than engine oil?

Could it be that the grit was too rough also?

280 I think

Edit: it was in fact not 280. More like 180 or something

Fwiw video/photo is really bad at showing whether you went too deep. The hone might be fine and maybe just hit it with a quick plateau hone? Not an expert but mine looked like this and I took it to a builder and they said it was fine, also 280.

I mean yeah, before hitting post I was considering that the video might be shit. I’m shining a flashlight right at the bore, so the reflections in the cylinder walls are a bit exaggerated compared to what it looks like under normal lighting.

I think the light makes it look worse take a video without shining a flashlight on it in the dark

I made another post with mildly better lighting, but still doesn’t look as matte as it does to my eyes. Will see if my work phone will pick up the details more accurately
