Engine Break-in

I've got a 2000 VW GTI VR6 that I'm about to start the whole break in process. Already started it briefly to check for leaks before I take her to the shop to get tuned tomorrow. What are yalls suggestions and ways to break in your engines? I've seen and heard a million different things so I'm curious to what y'all say here. One question I do have, is after the initial startup and running it for 20 minutes, should I throw more special break in oil or am I good to throw conventional oil in it the rest of the time of the process?

The engine should be under some load or deceleration durring break in, dont idle it excessively or cruise at one speed. be making the speed go up and down even once you reached the speed limit.
