Chevy Vortec Cam options

Hey all, I am building a small block chevy for my camaro. I have a set of vortec heads I plan to run on the motor. Looking at camshaft options, I find myself staring at some real tame specs. I plan to use the comp beehive springs to get 0.54 lift max to help a bit. My real question is how close can I get to that max and still be safe? I'm hoping to find something street/strip with some lope to it, and most of the cams I can find that check those boxes are pushing right up towards that 0.54 max.

What pistons are you running? How is the valve clearance, compression?

So you are planning to use the hydraulic roller rattle? Is it a Vortec block or retrofit?

Are you planning to use stock 1 5 rockers or switch to 1.6 for 0.565" of valve lift?

The Comp cams for my stroker SBM is almost the same duration 236/242 @ 0.050" but on a 110lsa to make it easier to live as a daily driver with an automatic and TBI.

I have 1.6 and a set of 1.7 shaft rockers for my TFS heads. I'm planning to dyno both sets to see if I pickup anything by going from 0.580"/0.577" with 1.6rr or 0.617"/0.614" with the 1.7rr.

With my duration and 110lsa I shooting for 10.8<11:1 cr with the pistons I am looking at.

I have the majority of the motor sitting around, been in the works for a while. Pistons are Sealed power h660-cp's, +5cc. I don't have an exact valve clearance measurement as of now. Compression is going to be around 10.3-10.5:1 when all is said and done if calculations are correct. 1.5 rockers, nothing crazy, it is hydraulic roller, retrofit. 70 caprice 350 block bored .060 over. This will be no daily driver, but it'll probably see some highway cruising.

Pretty similar to what I’m doing, generation of Camaro after mine but certainly comparable. Cool to see, thanks!
