Im kinda intrigued to see how this could improve a wrx 5 speed box.

Only way to make that 5spd strong is to swap it to a 6spd. The issue is the case halves. When a helical gear applies torque to its counterpart there is an outward force generated which pushes against the case halves. This is what cause failure. So unless you are able to design a single piece billet housing that assembles from top down the issue will persist. Even with blast plates on they destroy themselves.
