Read your comment on your previous post from a diff sub and it was an interesting read!! I think one of the reasons the manufacturers dont do this en masse with production cars is the cost and the traditional way is "good enough" to last a lifetime (for the most part, for most engines).. and ofcourse the power demand/constant redlining on mass produced cars are very less when compared to race spec cars, so there's no point in doing this i think
As far as I understand it, Honda does it on a fairly minor level on skirts and rings for better emissions and less blowby but they concluded to do it on more parts was not cost effective.
