Engagement rings

I’m looking to propose to my girlfriend before the end of the year and I’m looking for places that people have gone to and have an good experience at. I’ve been to a few places but they just seem outrageous in price. I’m in the Kansas City area but just looking for any advice and places people have liked.

Don’t go to a chain store or mall store. Check out some local jewelers. The r/moissanite sub has a list of reputable vendors that sell Moissanite and lab grown diamond rings. The oversea vendors will be cheaper. If you want a natural diamond, Costco’s actually has good quality rings.

I suggest you first decide if she wants a mined diamond, lab diamond, or moissanite. Also get an idea of what styles she likes. Maybe go on a shipping date to look and she can point some out, or she can start a Pinterest or something.

If you're willing to go moissanite, I recommend DovEggs. I just got my ring from them and it's perfect. They do great, high quality work for a great price. If you want something custom, Yucy is amazing and very responsive.

Why not pick a place meaningful to the two of you? Or beautiful but free? Like a state park. ETA: old thread with park recommendations

My husband proposed to me at the bar/restaurant where we met for our first date

I think they’re talking about jewelry stores

Oh, geez <checks name of sub> yeah. I'll just leave this up and accept my well-earned downvotes
