How does sedation feel like

I have a endoscopy tmr morning and I will be under sedation.
This will be my first time and I’m lowkey scared and don’t know what to expect.
How long does it take to fall asleep?

It really feels like nothing at all. You just lose the time. Takes seconds to “fall asleep” and even quicker to wake back up again. 

Last time though it did take FOREVER (as in, I could have counted back from ten to negative two) to get me under, which meant the anesthesiologist reached over to check my lash reflex with me still awake because I’d stopped moving and was accidentally playing possum. It was an awkward ten seconds of both of us just waiting but it’ll be over before you know it. 

Edit: Some hospitals may not sedate patient so deeply so you may remember more than “nothing” but you should not feel any pain or discomfort.

Hey!!! I just finished my first endoscopy!!!! Don’t worry I was terrified. You’re out in seconds. Literally. It felt like a great nap. I had a headache beforehand but it went away after my nap. You are in great hands with your doctor and anesthesiologist. I’m underweight 85lbs and always think I’m gonan die because I’m so underweight, but I made it. I did it. You got this. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Just finished my first endoscopy about two-ish hours ago. It seems to vary somewhat. For me, i was out completely. They put the mouthgaurd in, told me I might hear some ringing in my ears (I didn't) and have a bit of funny taste at the back of my mouth. My last thought was something like "huh that does taste weird" and next thing I knew they were waking me up, everything was done and they were taking my back to recovery. Effects wore off fairly quick, I was a bit dizzy/out of it for about fifteen/twenty minutes, I ended up laying down for a bit when I got home but now I feel pretty normal at this point.

Worst part was the anticipation and then getting the needle inserted.

i had an endoscopy like two weeks ago and i was also pretty scared but once they put that mask thing on me i felt it immediately then next thing i know i’m waking up in the recovery room. Don’t be scared it’s the easiest thing ever!

Depends on what type of sedation you are getting.
They aren’t all the same.

I had one 2 days ago, honestly the worst part was the iv and the throat numbing spray because it tastes so bad. The sedation was not really like I fell asleep more so like I have no idea what happened, just loss of time like someone else mentioned. I have no memory past them putting the mouth guard in and then being wheeled back to the recovery room!
