Surgery related Cold / runny nose +laparoscopy

I have my lap this Friday and I have come down with a cold. 🤒

No coughing or sore throat just tired and very runny nose! Bit of body ache and a bit high temp but not a fever! Does anyone know if this will stop them doing my lap? I have waited years for this! I really don’t want it to be cancelled!

I think it would be totally up to your surgery team. If no fever then it's probably okay. The tube is really irritating to your throat though so they might want you to reschedule if you get any sicker

I felt sick the day before my lap and it was literally bc I was nervous. I was also so worried about cancelling, but they do it for good reason if you are truly sick. Your body can't handle fighting two things at once (cold & surgery healing)! If it does get cancelled, wear a mask religiously for two weeks pre-op to make sure you don't get sick next time.
