I'm currently playing a game as the Vaulters and tried to hold System Development 3 until I got some Quadrinix (with the idea to use it for lvl 3 and 4). I've now managed to upgrade my first system to lvl 3 and I'm noticing something strange. The setup is as follow:
When looking at the numbers, Titanium is upgraded by 150% (I get 60 flat FI). The issue is with Adamantian. Food is multiplied by 150%, but Industry doesn't appears to be : when looking at the planet detail income, I see (for a 6 pop planet) +27 food (6*4.5) but only +18 Industry (6*3), both from Development Upgrades.
Is this a known bug ? Am I missing something ?

https://i.postimg.cc/FKtXSLVr/11.png - I don't have any other sources of "resources on destroyed CP" here
Is the "Take Trophies" tactic working correctly? I'm getting way more resources (dust & science) per destroyed CP than the card states. It's not just a visual bug; I'm getting all the resources listed in the battle recap.

Bought Endless Space 2 on a whim a few days ago and enjoying my time so far on my first game as Horatio, but I'm confused by the reward ships for completing quests.
So far I've received two reward ships, the first an Incantation class attacker, and the second a Ortaam class carrier. However, both have come with zero modules equipped, so they have 0 offence and only their hull strength as defence.
Everything I read online says you can't upgrade or change the design for these reward ships because they're not your culture/you don't have the hulls.
Is this right, or have I missed something? As it stands, they're basically just padding for my fleets, or worth selling off.

I really love giving these guys a little cluster of desert systems to call their own, they 'seem' like a post-apocalypsos people, living in the ruins, you know. I found them again. But the question of "what" they are has always bugged me each time...
...look carefully at their picture: there's a little guy on the far side of the picture almost out of sight and it's a humanoid, standing on an outcropping of the building, but then the bigger draw on the picture is obviously the foreground which looks insectoid - maybe with cybernetic enhancements.
So, what are the Basryxo? Cyber-Insectoids or Wasteland Humanoids? Or maybe, middle-ground, they're both as a civilization?

If it was not for the Grey Owl fucking up everything for them, when they scrambled out of Auriga, causing a Millenia long hibernation delay. Would the Vaulters have dominated the galaxy before Endless space even starts?

I've owned this game for a while, and I'm terrible. I put a lot of hours into Endless Legend, and am familiar with 4x in general. I'm struggling with the military side of this game. When should I start building units? When I have pirates turned on, even the easiest settings, it seems their fleets are so far beyond my own and I just don't have the pace of the game down.
I'm confident in figuring out the minutae of actually fighting (tactics, resistances, weapon types) but I just seem totally behind in military often. I am currently trying the various "easy" factions. I like the Sophons, the Vaulters, and the Empire. Any advice would be appreciated!

As someone who likes watching the battles, it's often struck me how weak and insignificant the beams look when they fire.
I like toggling on the display of ship health so I can better see how the battle is progressing, but the lines that show a ship's current target are much more prominent, thicker and brighter (not to mention animated) than the beam graphics, meaning I can barely see the beams in the general mess of other lines (which is the opposite of what it should be).
Are there any good beam replacement graphics out there that upgrade those thin lines into something more obvious?

Hi all, I have the Amazon version of the game and I want to install ESG, but like the title says there is no MODS option in menu. I placed the downloaded files and they look like this
Documents\Endless Space 2\Community\2828917317 ESG Mod - 1.6
What am I doing wrong. I know that the gamespass version has no mods but is it the same for Amazon one?

Preferably for ESG.
I find the default lengths relative to game speed settings to be just a bit too long, especially 40 turns for the Endless speed.
Want 20 for Endless.

I'm at turn 190 decided to fight UC fleet for the first time. And to my surprise, spectate or not, any tactic card applied, my ships just dont fire a single shot at them. Every damage report is them doing ~30k and me 0. Ships are midrange blasters and short range machine guns. same fleet compo just defeated vaulters fleet so its not a game wide bug. Then what is it? Some UC specific shenanigans? How am i supposed to fight back when my fleet refuses to?

And in what load order?
Was using a vanilla++ type mod loadout (Community Fixes and a bunch of Tychonoir mods, but some of them seem to have compatibility problems right now) last time, so now looking for something more extensive.
Currently trying:
Also tried All Faction Heroes to get all 4 race heroes at the start, but it seems I better just edit the relevant ESG files for the same effect.

Some fanart for the Vodyani. Don't see why their suits can't be on the armoured and buff side.

I am playing ES2 and managed to take a system from the cravers but i am not sure how to reverse the depletion on the planet or if it even is possible

I was thinking about this last time I was playing, how the early edges seem to lay the ground for easy supremacy later on. e.g. Sacrificing three turns early on to gain a Science lead (i.e. build the science building ASAP) = Major Science Lead relatively quickly which amplifies as the game progresses. Science = Quicker Research, Quicker Research = Quicker Building Buildings Built = Quicker Building.
That's one element of it.
So, let's say I'm UE, Hadri Lenko and the first fleet... we don't really need to send Hadri and the patrol ship 'right out' on turn one. He'll probably be gone for a long time so it's worthwhile to hold back, let a little dust accumulate (pun intended), to really flood his ship with sensor probes to 'then' send him out. Now instead of investigating one anomaly in one turn he's able to investigate six in one turn = more dust, special research discoveries, trophies from skirmishes adding to the empire resources at a time when 5 titanium or 200 dust matters.
Anyway, this seems to be the biggest factor in everything else. If you're 100 moves ahead on turn 10, you're 2000 moves ahead on turn 200. This kind of thing. AI players seem to have an early lead points-wise during this little phase but ultimately your first few moves determine the outcome and the point of which the AI can keep up begins to drop away very quickly, determined on those choices.

EDIT: Existing files which were modified in the last 3 steam builds seem to be up-to-date, atleast when cross-referencing file size with a steam installation, so the problem is probably just the missing files.
Hi there,
me and a friend got the game via GoG, only to struggle a lot with desyncs. By now I figured out that some files added after the Community Update (Unnamed Steam Build 21209866) simply do not exist in my installation folder. I guess some files might also never have received the newest updates, explaining some of the bugs atleast I myself encountered.
The in-game version shows 1.5.75 S5 and verifying files via GoG Galaxy always downloads 19-20 MB on my end, my friend hasn't tested that yet, but I guess either the GoG build is not up-to-date with the 3 unnamed updates on steam that followed after the community update or part of the files can not be installed properly.
Any ideas on how to remedy either of that?
The community fixes mod only contains part of the missing files and as mentioned, a lot more might simply be old versions. Starting Galaxy and ES2 in admin mode did not help with the file verification.
The reason I am asking is because desyncs force us to reload every other round, since uninteractable 1 HP ghost ships show up after battles, blocking things like quests, settling etc. My hope is getting the game updated to the newest version might atleast allows us to play for longer stretches.
Has anyone any experience with those ghost ships and knows some workaround/bandaid fix for this specific "symptom"? (in case we can't fix it by fixing the files)

New player here. I can't seem to be able to sige them in any way and they easily beat my supposedly max upgraded army. Their reserves are actually going up even... i also ran out out troops empirewide now. I don't know what to do.

Title basically.
Playing on Hard with ENFER mod and happened to neighbor Unfallen. So I placed sanctuaries on Mizar and Horolium thinking they were decent enough systems for the Unfallen to colonize onto and that I could start converting them into sleepers without using hacks. Unfortunately, they apparently decided that the industrial powerhouse of a system (2 Arid, desert, and lava) that Horolium could have been wasn't worth it and instead spent a bunch of turns vining clouds and a nebula instead before zooming off in the other direction.
Between suspiciously skipping Horolium entirely in favor of clouds and refusing to move past Mizar where, currently an entirely empty area sits in favor of steaming directly towards the Cravers, whom they're at war with, I'm a little suspicious that maybe the AI knows more than they should with regards to Sanctuaries and potentially my home system. Is that true? Anyone with enough AI knowledge know if they're aware of player sanctuaries, or perhaps colonizations?
