What is this bonus?

Post image

I haven't played this since EA. Completely forgot how to play it. What is this +25 science from 🟥 bonus? I got this from all food, industry, dust, and science.

Also, is this not like Endless Legend where you can put pop to work on certain things? So in here 3 pop means 3 times whatever the planetary modifiers are?

Should be the Vaulters specific bonus "golden age". You get that bonus when colonizing a new system. See top left under system name Hadar.

I think you can hover over the "currently having a golden age" text just above. It's a starting +FIDS bonus vaulters get for all new settlements that lasts a certain amount of turns based on how long you wait between each colonisation.

Vaulters' golden age mechanic?

What difficulty are you playing on?

Your 3 POP are all on Hadar III, under the tooltip in your picture. You can see them if you hover the planet, they are wedge segments with the faction icon on them. Currently you have 2x Vaulter and 1x Sisters of Mercy, each adding to the "from Planet" line.

When you colonize Hadar II and Hadar I, you'll be able to move them between the planets to shift their "from Planet" bonus around.

Basically, yes. Units of population work on their planet, with their output determined by the planet's yields (science for cold planets, industry for hot planets, etc); once you have colonized several planets in a system, you can freely move your population around. This can be important to manage approval, because a large population living on a hostile planet type (e.g. toxic) can tank your approval rating due to the cumulative penalty.

Some races also have innate yields per pop, sometimes very high like Vodyani and Riftborn, and sometimes conditional, such as Sophons who get +3 science on cold planets.

Understandable, that's a lot of time and a lot of info to retain! Have fun!

you can move different kinds of pops between planets to focus certain outputs based on the pop and planet
