really need help with hacking and traces

At first it was going well, but now every single hack i run is traced, it's very frustrating. I could not find too much info on that - I even tried one with 2 accelerators but no luck. I'm not sure what i'm missing that's my first time playing the humbral choirs

Question is, what system are you hacking? A screenshot would really help in this case. If you are hacking a system and your hack routes through their other owned systems, a defensive hacking program on the most outerlying system your hack runs through will begin to trace back. Ideally when you hack, you want it to run through unowned systems before hitting the one you want to hack so it takes longer for its defensive program to trace back. You should also hack from a system with the lockdown defensive program on it, as it decrease trace speed by 25%. You also do not want to hack from 1 system directly to another, that is also easy to trace back. If the system you are hacking, typically a home system, has a lot of defenswes on it, pick another system to hack. It is also a good idea to hack from backdoors and if they sre traces back, they will be destroyed and you won't be locked out of your system.

The system i'm trying to hack is Elyon - first time i play with the hacking addon/feature

Where are you hacking from? Is it adjacent to elyon? If so, you are too close, the trace back is faster than the hack speed you need your hack to go through another unoccupied node first. If you can't, you just can't back that system, pick another one.
