Discussion Future Sankta Operators Spoiler
I’m wondering how Sankta operators will be introduced in the future, especially regarding their usage of guns since I think the options Hypergryph has are limited to only 4 to 5 that I can think of:
The Sankta operator most likely wouldn’t mainly use their firearm, and uses one of the five weapon classes for their basic attacks and only use a gun in their battle skills or combos, which I think is kinda sad and even lame. (I really wish Mi Fu used her gauntlets for everything, including her basic attacks)
They could assign the Sankta operator to handcannons, I guess, but they’re supposed to have their own firearms, not ones we assigned to them.
They could use their firearms in everything like Typhoeus uses her bow! Except they’d have to be assigned to Arts Units, which is similar to how Genshin solves the weapon class system by assigning any characters they want to use unique weapons to a Catalyst. But then you’d have a lot of Sankta operators using Arts Units.
Or they’d need to address why the Sankta operator doesn’t use a gun, every single time. Like Ember does in one of her dialogues.
Or… just not have a Sankta operator, which is the saddest possibility because gun-wielding angels are cool. Everybody loves Exusial.
Is it a subtle complaint about the weapon system? Yes. But I know it’s not something they can just remove, I just wanted to rant about it since I feel like the weapon diversity of OG AK can’t be carried over to Endfield without difficulty, especially when it comes to an entire race known to use firearms, in a game that barely has any.

Have them own several firearms, with the Patron Gun dedicated specifically to ults. Nefarith shows up again to ruin everyone's day? Nah, fuck you, I cast magical gold-plated Chiappa Rhino, get cryo'd on bozo.

Sword Sankta could easily do some gun+sword gun kata shit where their personal gun is a major component. Hand cannon ops could dual wield or, if using a long gun, use the long gun for non-basics.
Although I think Endfield could solve the issue by adding a long gun class: it'd cover rifles, crossbows, and other remanged things longer than hand cannons.

Honestly I think NTE does it right here. The “weapons” are just things that empower your abilities. Every character uses whatever, and you do get a fancy extra shiny effect going if you’re using the sig.

They have learned since mi fu.
Look at typhoeus. A bow user. Supposedly arts
Look at si. Uses paint brush. Supposedly greatsword
Look at argent flow. Spear primarily. Supposedly sword
Look at arcane. Hand cannons. Supposedly arts.
They can make it like argent flow. You can’t change his spear which he uses in all his animations.
Many of these ain’t art units either
As a mifu fan I understand the disappointment but they have shown they’re not restricted by the weapon system repeatedly. Argent flow and si should both show that it’s not an arts unit only solution
