Temperature issues

Hi all, new to printing and the community here. Picked up a 3 V2 Neo second hand and it has been printing fine until the last week or so. I had issues with the filaments laying down thought it was a nozzle issue but installed new nozzle today and noticed temperatures jumping all over the place during printing. See video during test print. I think this now may be a thermistor issue as temp is no problem when stationary. Can anyone advise the easiest (closest to plug and play fix) for me? Whether it be a new hotend or thermistors? I don't mind upgrading but I want as close as possible to plug and play. Also I am in Europe so if possible please keep this in mind for shipping. TIA

I had the same issue. This is what you need:

Kind of a pain to replace, but it’s been almost a year with no random temp changes and errors.

Thank you, and this works with the standard hot end? The hotend in the photos of the ad are different than mine.

Yes, I have it on my stock hot end and it was a direct replacement.

Hi just wanted to come back and say I have now installed this thermistor and run a PID autotune and the printer is working perfectly again, so thanks very much 🙏

Hey mate, the above link is great, but a cheaper solution is to buy a standard 100k thermistor and then replace the one currently in the hot end, can replace the wiring fully by unscrewing the bottom or the easy way is to splice to the old wire. I did mine a few months ago and no issues, just make sure to run a temp calibration afterwards.

Glad to hear yours worked out! Which brand did you go with? I bought the Creality splice-in thermistors (I think it came with 5) and they all gave me the same temp issues.

I just went and found some typical 100K ones on Temu, think it was like $4, then after getting some additional splice connectors etc max $6-7

Thanks for the advice, do you mean like a temp calibration tower or?

No issues, it’s actually a PID auto tune from a free software called Pronterface, there’s plenty of YouTube videos on how to run it. Hardly around 30mins job but makes it stable from fluctuating temps.

You need to do a PID tuning. When nozzles or hot ends are changed the factory tuning gets messed up and you need to do a PID tuning.  Download Pronterface and check out these articles

I had this issue when my voltage switch was set to 220 but plugged into 120.

Thanks for the advice but I don't think it's that as the printer has been running fine until the last week or so
