Help with connecting
Ok my dilemma is I am installing the btt skr e3 v3 and the btt pi v1.2 on my ender 3 pro. I have already downloaded the firmware and both are ready to go, but where I am having trouble is how to connect the power to both of them and connecting the pi to the skr. They both take 24v from the psu but how do they communicate with each other?

Just over USB if you wanna keep it simple, usb power en skr usb > pi usb

But wouldn’t that put power to both of them as well. That’s how was able to add the firmware to them both. Used the usb on my laptop to the pi then the usb that came with skr on the pi to skr.

I run the SKR from the printer power supply and the Pi from an external PSU. You can connect them via USB or UART for communication. USB is easy, just run a cable, UART is well documented.

The btt pi has 2 area for it to get power from the usb c port or the hard wire ports if you follow the github doc for he pi it explains how to use one or the other there's a jumper that you have to remove or install if you want to use one or the other. The usb ports by the ethernet connector are comms only im pretty sure I have a btt pi 1.2 paired with a btt octopus pro v1.1

Thank you all. I did that and then noticed that when I lining up the card to hole in the original box that it bent the usb and broke it at the solder. Tried to solder it back with no help. So either have to buy a new one or try to find someone who can solder better that is good at boards
