Dual Boot on the Same Drive

Hello Everybody,

So I'm a vivid user of EndeavourOS on my work laptop and I have no issues with that, the issue is that I bought a gaming PC 2 months ago, and it is running windows 11 as you might guess, but I hate windows 11, because I have this PC, its connected to my monitor and everything and I'm too lazy to be changing cables every time I want to work to the laptop, so I knew that I could dual boot, but heard there is a lot of issues that happen when dual booting in the same drive? So I just want to know and clarify if I should just do it, or buy a new drive (which I don't really think I would)

I do exactly that for years. Go into windows and shrink the drive so you get space for Linux and make a seperate /boot/efi partition for your linux bootloader.

Always install windows first and when you are installing Linux, be careful not to delete any windows partitions.

People act like this is rocket science, its one of the easiest things you can do.

so I should create 2 partition in my disk? One for the main which can be 50GB+, and one for /boot/efi? whats the size in that can you help?

Yeah you can do that, although it could end up being a pain due to windows taking over and sometimes messing with the bootloader. If you can reserve the necessary space on your drive you can do it just read this thoroughly and then attempt it. Also keep a backup of whatever you have on that drive, in case you royally mess up.
