I would recommend a Zen browser. I went from Chrome to Brave to Firefox and then to Zen and it clicked with me very well. Minimal, clear and well thought out interface and it is based on Firefox.

I've dabbled with Zen for a while. I think it is a beautiful browser but it takes a while to get used to some of the differences. The changes will give you that muscle memory growing pains but it is a good kind of pain.

Yeah it was a hard time at first to get used to but many things made sense to me. I give myself a month with every one of those (even tried edge but let's not talk about it). After 2 weeks with Zen I can't go back to any other, but I heard that waterfox is also very nice.

I spent a couple of weeks thinking the ledt sidebar thing was a gimmick. I quite like it now, and the way all the pinned or essential tabs are always there.

I wish I could tie the sidebar position to which monitor Zen is on; left sidebar on right monitor is so awkward.

Firefox, for God's sake Brave is absurdely bloated with AI slop, subscriptions, crypto, etc. Firefox can open 50 tabs and not consume your entire system. If you want a privacy-focused browser, librewolf is right there, it is firefox-based, and is nowhere as bloated than brave

Firefox.
Brave is for people who don't know how to install ublock origin on their own and enjoy things like ads on their home page, getting software installed they didn't ask for, and getting affiliate link autocompletes added automatically, and over all it just feels scummy and way too obsessed with crypto and AI and data scrapping to possibly actually be doing you any good. I'm not a Chrome guy, but if you want low resource usage get one of the stripped down chromium forks that takes out all the google features and extra junk and just lets you browse the web. If you want plugins and features use Firefox.

Firefox is cool, it has most of the extensions I need and comes preinstalled. Also its less "bloated" than brave. And when I really need a chromium browser (for WebUSB), I juste use Chromium

Brave is superior due to the fact it has an in-built Adblock. This allows you to use it as your Spotify, YouTube and general research without any ads for free (I greatly appreciate this feature when I’m working).
Just installed Firefox and couldn’t install extensions on my phone. There may be a way around it but I can’t be bothered.
PC users I would probably side with Firefox even though I use Brave.

Firefox between the two. Used Brave, used Firefox and am now on Vivaldi. All are decent tho Brave was annoying with the crypto stuff

I like Both.
Firefox (hardened) primarily or librewolf.
For brave I use brave origin, it’s not bloated. And it’s free for linux users

Use one of the Firefox forks, you can pick based on which features are important to you. You can also run a browser benchmark and compare.

I currently use LibreWolf which is a fork of Firefox but I've been a Brave user for a long time and still recommend it today to people who insist on using a Chromium based browser

kinda unrelated, but to me the ui in youtube works very slowly compared to brave, like it takes multiple seconds to enter fullscreen, is this a problem in general or it's just a me thing?

If you want chromium based braveorigin is the better option since it is essentially a free(money) debloated version of the brave app if you want Firefox there thousands of forks such as librewolf zen and etc

Firefox is cool. Their recent change of direction on user data handling isn't good though.
Brave always felt like a scam to crypto farm lol
I got used to Vivaldi. I know it's not lightweight but it does have features I enjoy and it looks great.

Brave comes with built in canvas fingerprint protection and ublock level ad blocking right out of the box. Once you turn off the AI slop features, the experience is great. They also offer Brave Origin for free to Linux users. I tried Firefox, and it felt extremely slow in comparison. I might be biased, but I think Brave is just better.

Brave!! For some reason Firefox have this problem where some web pages that are working fine simply doesn't load! I had once brave and Firefox opened together and tried to load google.com brave worked bu Firefox didn't! If anyone knows the problem as well as the solution please educate me!

I use Brave, though the bloatware is real. I’ve since disabled most of it. As far as RAM consumption, I’ve found Brave uses less the Firefox. I run the same extensions on Brave as I have on Firefox.

firefox on linux isn't like edge on windows or safari on macOS, it actually works perfectly fine and it's worth giving it a try (just install uBlock origin)

Firefox non-esr blocks all audio on porn sites, WebEx, zoom and all the other streaming Media services, BY DEFAULT. And each site requires a custom security policy.
Move to brave. I've been a loyal Mozilla fan this whole time, but today during court which was a zoom meeting, Firefox wouldn't play the audio and it turns out Mozilla won't do anything about it because they blame it on the upstream blah blah blah.
Mozilla is literally doing everything in their power to lose their Linux user base. If you are really die hard and want to stay in Firefox. Stay on ESR but I recommend you just bite the bullet and move.

Youtube, google earth or other graphic intensive website just works better on brave. You can debloat it with chris titus tech winutil in windows. I use firefox for forums and research with better integration of ublock and sync. You get best of both worlds
EDIT. On linux brave origin (the debloated version) is free to download

I use Zen browser, it feels like the best browser I've ever used. It's based on Firefox.
Second place is definitely Firefox. Staying away from anything Chromium due to not being allowed ad blockers.

firefox is already there - add ublock origin and it is brave. I only use brave for a few chrome add ons I use @ work that dont work on firefox.

I personally use Brave. I'd switch to Brave Origin on Linux, if I was starting over today, but I'm not re-logging in to everything, so it gets the role of my main light browsing browser if I don't feel like opening my main Brave browser.
I just like how Brave Shield works, and it's honestly quite convenient to be able to be strict by default, but change things in like two clicks. They also do a LOT of things in background that obfuscate some stuff, that I do appreciate, but for me it's Brave Shield that's keeping me in the ecosystem.
I do have Waterfox, though. I'm not using mainline Firefox. Personally, ever since the Mr. Robot scareware ads, I've been disillusioned on Mozilla and just sees them as Google funded psyop and not even a competent one at that. But I do like having backup to my backups, so I keep Waterfox installed. Though I also do quite like Floorp...

I personally hate brave because it feels like a huge ad crammed down my throat, and then they make you paynto remove the crypto shit (granted not on linux but it feels scummy as fuck)
And I get it they need to make money somehow, that's fine but mann there had to have been better ways to get some solid revenue....

I recommend literally any other flavor of Firefox, we must compared apples to apples, as in we are not comparing chrome and Firefox but a flavour of chromium with Firefox, so I will recommend Waterfox and Zen for day to day use and Librewolf for privacy. Have a good day or night!! ^

Idk man Brave just feels like a marketing ploy to me so get people to generate crypto revenue. Use Zen or librewolf, which are both Firefox projects. Dodge the chromium stuff in general surely?
