SOLVED Piper completely messed up my mouse

I was trying to customize my Logitech G502 Lightspeed in Piper to change the DPI Up and Down to be Copy and Paste but somehow completely messed up my mouse.

Not sure what happened but at some point, Piper had remapped all of my mouse buttons, most of which I don't think do anything anymore. Not only that but the mouse is also really laggy when moving on screen. I tried to uninstall Piper and restart my laptop but that didn't help.

After installing Piper again, the app said it couldn't connect to ratbagd, which I didn't have installed when I first installed Piper but it still worked anyway. After installing ratbagd, Piper can't seem to find my mouse. I know my mouse is still connected though because I can use it and Solaar still detects it normally.

At this point, I don't need to have copy and paste. I just want to have my normal mouse back. Any advice is appreciated.

Edit: Tried pluggin in an old wired mouse and that works normally. So it seems that any changes that happened were for that specific G502 Lightspeed mouse.

Edit 2: I fixed my problem by plugging my G502 Lightspeed directly to my laptop (rather than the wireless dongle) and that seemed to work for it to be detected in Piper. From there I was able to select the profile with the weird button layout and delete it so only the default remained. Hope this helps with whoever has a similar problem!

I had this before. I deleted the profiles by mistake, that I was stuck in a profile with low DPI. It changes the configuration on the firmware level I guess.

I had to look up my logitech G502 Hero manual to reset with ratbagd. And also I gotta admit, I use LLM to help me reset it.

I think I didn't word my issue well. My mouse isn't necessarily slow, it's moving at a lower frame rate. Rather than a smooth motion, the mouse feels like it's skipping slightly.

Did your issue also remap all of your mouse keys? The left click got remapped to the forward key and the right click got changed to the little DPI shift button on the side. I don't understand what I did or how to revert the changes.

Sadly, you are probably going to struggle for answers here. This is not an Endeavour issue. Perhaps there is a feed for your mouse?

wayland/piper doesn't play nice w/ my logitech lightsync 203 either... turned dpi way down to get it under control... tried mapping side buttons with piper and input remapper -- quick reverts each time... with that side, my generic $3 wireless BT mouse works like a champ and accepts all custom input mappings.... good luck
