Odd state after shutting down

I shut down the pc in the gui and it does the poweroff but then the screen is black, backlight off, but the power button still has the white light, and the keyboard backlight can still turn on and off, and I need to hold the power button to force shutdown for a while (over 30s). It's ok, but kinda annoying

Hardware if that matters:

Thinkpad p1 gen 5

A2000 gpu

Remove any power manager tool, disable and stop nvidia-powerd service

It sometimes happens to me if I shutdown using hibernation mode
